Brazil's data protection statute, close enough to the GDPR in shape that most programmes answer both together: ten lawful bases, data subject rights, a data protection officer, breach notification and turnover-based fines. Data protection became a fundamental right in the Brazilian constitution in 2022, and the operative detail now arrives as resolutions from the national authority rather than as changes to the law's text.
