Also known as: Alaska PIPA, AS 45.48, Alaska Personal Information Protection Act
Alaska Personal Information Protection Act (AS 45.48) — Alaska State Legislature
Alaska's personal-information statute: whoever holds computerised personal information about an Alaska resident must disclose a breach of it to every affected resident without unreasonable delay, may delay only for a documented investigation, and must destroy records so that the information cannot be read. It binds state and local agencies alongside businesses, and carries separate duties on credit freezes and on the use of social security numbers.
